The Washington county Long Term Recovery Group serves residents of Washington county, Tennessee, in coordination with the local Emergency Management Agency.
A long term recovery group (LTRG) is a cooperative body comprised of representatives from faith-based, non-profit, government, business, and other organizations. LTRGs work within a community to assist individuals and families as they recover from disaster.

The mission of the Washington County Long Term Recovery Group is to partner with faith-based organizations, volunteer and social agencies, governmental agencies, community organizations, businesses, and individual volunteers to address the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the individuals and families affected by disaster. The goal of the Washington County Long Term Recovery Group is to enable all residents to recover from disaster to the greatest extent possible given the available resources.

The vision of the Washington County Long Term Recovery Group is to foster a resilient community where individuals and families affected by disaster are connected with community partners and resources to recover and rebuild, supported by a network of faith-based organizations, volunteers, agencies, and businesses.

- One-Year Anniversary of Hurricane Helene Commemorated in Washington CountyOn the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, the Washington County Long Term Recovery Group hosted a heartfelt community dinner at The Farm at Jackson Bridge. The event brought together over 450 attendees, including local officials, first responders, and community members, to reflect on the resilience and recovery efforts following the devastating storm.
- Fact SheetOn September 27, 2024, flood damage from Hurricane Helene devastated Northeast Tennessee and Western North Carolina. On September 30, 2024, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee declared the state a disaster and requested federal support. U.S. President Joe Biden declared the area a federal disaster on October 2, 2024. Washington County was one of six counties in Tennessee impacted by the flood. In response to the disaster, the Washington County Long Term Recovery Group was formed in November 2024 to help coordinate recovery, distribute resources, and provide critical information to residents of Washington County, Tennessee.
- 2025 Six Month Impact ReportThe Washington County Long Term Recovery Group published its 2024 6-Month impact report. The group reported significant value resulting from the support of the East Tennessee community, its business, and its volunteers.
- 2024 Helene FloodThe Washington County Long Term Recovery Group activated in October 2024. The group published a governance structure organization documents in May 2025.
