2026 Progress Update

During the first quarter of 2026 (January 1 through March 31), the Washington County Long Term Recovery Group maintained a high level of activity in resident outreach and recovery logistics. The Disaster Case Management Committee reported progress on 44 projects on properties in Washington County. The group is also still referring residents to other disaster recovery organizations working in the disaster area.

This progress report reflects consistent engagement with the ongoing recovery needs of the community as residents move through the support window toward permanent restoration. Progress was heavily concentrated on essential assistance actions, particularly long-term housing solutions. This quarter, the group recorded the addition of six new home construction actions and six home repair projects. Efforts to address immediate instability also continued, with five new temporary housing actions and four utility repair items initiated. Additional assistance included specific actions for debris removal, landscape restoration, and gravel delivery to impacted properties.

The group’s outreach efforts led to six new residents added during the first quarter. The addition of these contacts ensures that more individuals impacted by the disaster are being screened for unmet needs and connected to appropriate recovery resources. This growth in the directory represents the group’s commitment to ongoing outreach in the disaster area.
