WASHINGTON COUNTY LONG TERM RECOVERY GROUP REAFFIRMS CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR RESIDENTS RECOVERING FROM THE 2024 HELENE FLOOD
WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN | NOVEMBER 18, 2025 -The Washington County Long Term Recovery Group (WCLTRG) today re-emphasized its long-term commitment to residents still recovering from the devastating 2024 Hurricane Helene flood. The WCLTRG, which was formed in November 2024 following the disaster, continues to serve as a vital hub for coordinating resources, distributing aid, and providing critical guidance to those in Washington County, Tennessee, whose lives were impacted by the September 27, 2024, flooding.
“The physical and emotional toll of the 2024 Helene flood is a reality that many of our neighbors still face,” said James Hanson, president of the group. “Our fundamental mission is to help residents restore their lives after a disaster. We want everyone to know that WCLTRG is here for the long haul, ready to partner with them through the entire journey until they are back to the life they experienced before the storm.”
The WCLTRG’s approach is centered on comprehensive disaster case management, which follows a four-stage process: Get Help, Recover, Support, and Restore. The critical first step for any resident seeking assistance is to visit the website and “tell us your story” so the disaster case team can begin partnership.
The organization encourages all Washington County residents who are still facing financial, physical, or emotional challenges from the 2024 Helene Flood to utilize the available support. A recently updated online resource hub is available with key information and tools.
